In 2001, St. Thomas Church shared its first theatrical production with the Wood River Valley community. The five sold-out performances, engaging the talents of 125 local performing artists and volunteers, captured the excitement of a group within St. Thomas who wanted to continue to reach out and share messages with the community through live theater. This inspiration resulted in the formation of St. Thomas Playhouse. STP is led by a dedicated Charter Committee, Education and Production Director–Sara Gorby, Managing Director–Brett Moellenberg, and Music Director–Joel Bejot who work under the guidance of the Rev. Ken Brannon and the St. Thomas Vestry.

St. Thomas Playhouse is celebrating our 14th Season in 2015 and is proud to have become one of the Wood River Valley’s most popular community theater organizations. We are sincerely grateful to our community, generous supporters, and St. Thomas Episcopal Church for our continuing growth and success. Productions since 2001 include Godspell, The Wizard of Oz, Jesus Christ Superstar, Our Town, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Fantasticks, Annie, Tommy, The Secret Garden, Rumpelstiltskin, Pippin, Oliver!, Footloose the Musical, The Music Man, Fame, The King and I, West Side Story, My Fair Lady, South Pacific, Hello, Dolly!, Urinetown and Children of Eden. Our summer camp shows for children have been Godspell Jr., Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Jr., Fiddler On The Roof Jr., The Pirates of Penzance Jr., Disney’s 101 Dalmatians Jr., Dear Edwina Jr., Seussical the Musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Jr., Aladdin, Jr., Disney's The Jungle Book Kids and Schoolhouse Rock Live! St. Thomas Playhouse is a community theater organization founded on the belief that the performing arts can serve the higher purpose of educating people and transforming lives while providing entertainment. St. Thomas Playhouse is dedicated to enriching the spiritual lives of participants and audience members by presenting plays, musicals, readings and summer camp programs that celebrate the human experience, build relationships, and explore theological and real-life themes. Theater arts education for children and youth is a fundamental component of our mission. In presenting these theatrical works and programs, St. Thomas Playhouse seeks to open doors and create lasting bonds with our growing and changing community.
